In 2014, Channel 4 commissioned Dazed to produce an original documentary series to energise a late-night weekday viewing with a young and switched-on digital audience. Music Nation was a broadcast-led, digitally amplified series celebrating the untold stories of seminal UK underground music scenes.

Music Nation is the best TV show about music in years.

Starting life as an original short on Dazeddigital.com, the series became the highest-rated original late night show on Channel 4 in 2014, trending on Twitter twice and pulling an average audience per episode of 250k+ through broadcast and online.

In 2015, Music Nation was commissioned for a second series, taking the exploration of UK music cultures further, exploring seminal scenes in Glasgow, Sheffield and British-Asian communities.

Each broadcast episode was supported with an array of diverse online and social editorial formats from playlists to archive galleries across Dazed channels.

The series received support from music icons including Bjork, Mike Skinner and Dizzee Rascal as well as broadsheet media.
